What Is Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)?
Talk therapy is an excellent tool for many patients who are dealing with mental health issues. However, some patients no matter the amount of time invested are unable to obtain any benefit. In this patient population; KAP maybe beneficial.
KAP has been used for patients suffering from a variety of problems—relationship and existential issues including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), Bipolar I and II depressive phases, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), psychological reactions to physical illness, personality disorders, life-threatening illnesses, and substance use co-occurring with a primary psychiatric disorder. Ketamine is not a stand-alone medicine fitting all possibilities.
KAP is mental health treatment method that involves using ketamine’s dis-associative (dream like state) and pain-relieving properties to help individuals work through various mental and emotional challenges with a licensed therapist.

We only work with compounding pharmacies that are 503B verified. The legal definition of a 503B outsourcing facility is: a facility at one geographic location or address that is engaged in the compounding of sterile drugs; has elected to register as an outsourcing facility; and complies with all of the requirements of section 503B.
Outsourcing facilities:
- must comply with CGMP requirements (current good manufacturing practice)
- are inspected by FDA according to a risk-based schedule
- must meet certain other conditions, such as reporting adverse events and providing FDA with certain information about the products they compound

4 Simple Steps to Begin
Step 1: Schedule A Consultation
The first step is to arrange a consultation with one of our physicians. A payment of $325 is required to schedule a consultation which includes your initial prescription. If you are not an appropriate candidate for ketamine assisted psychotherapy you will be refunded the entire amount.
Step 2: Complete Questionnaire
After scheduling the consultation, you will receive a link via text and email to our patient portal where there are several questionnaires to fill out. This takes about 15 minutes. Before your consultation, please complete the questionnaires. Please complete them as thoroughly as possible to provide our physician with necessary and complete information to create a personalized treatment plan.
Step 3: Attend the Consultation
During your private phone consultation, our board-certified physician will review your medical history, discuss any questions, or concerns you may have, and further evaluate your eligibility for ketamine therapy.
If approved, a personalized treatment plan tailored to your specific needs will be created.
Step 4: Prescription Order
After the consultation your prescription order will be placed. It can take 5-10 business days to be shipped to the address provide on file. Oral Zofran can be provided upon request.

KAP is another treatment modality that can aid with psychiatric disorders in conjunction with therapy by licensed and experienced therapists.
The medication will be in the form of a lozenge (rarely in another form) that dissolves under the tongue and takes about 10 minutes to become effective.
Patients will start to feel the dissociative effects for approximately 45 minutes or so, with the therapist monitoring, patients can explore issues at hand.
Most common side effects are headache and nausea which is rare for oral ketamine. Zofran can be prescribed for nausea.
There are several but most common are pregnancy, poor controlled blood pressure, and previous head injuries leading to increase intracranial pressure. Further patients on multiple controlled medications are considered high risk and this is evaluated on a case-by-case basis. We do not prescribe to patients under 18 years of age or outside the state of California.
The initial cost of $325 includes consultation with a board-certified physician and a prescription for Oral Ketamine dosing for 6 sessions.
Refills are $150 and include Oral Ketamine dosing for 4 sessions.
Yes, our therapist are certified/licensed by their specialty and in good professional standing. All our therapist have completed an accredited psychedelic-informed training in ketamine.
